Dava Bead & Trade

Anita's favorite African Trader just came through town. She has been shopping with him for 21 years. Come check out our fabulous new trade bead collection.

Beginning Thursday, May 10th, Dava will be closed on Thursdays. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We will also be closed Sunday, May 12th for Mother's Day.

Dear Dava Customers,

The purpose of this letter is to inform you that after 21 years of being the owner-operator of Dava Bead & Trade, I have decided to retire and pursue other dreams. In so doing, I also wish for a passionate, creative party to assume the helm of this business, which the community as well as countless ‘bead professionals’ have come to love and rely upon. In essence, Dava is now available for “new ownership”.
This ‘transfer of ownership’ would include amongst many things the excellent ‘retail and artistic’ reputation Dava has cultivated for over two decades within the Portland community. Naturally this would additionally include the robust ‘workshop’ following-both for beading and metal-smithing-which fills up our schedule nearly every month.

Dava currently holds a lease for 6 more years in this amazing building. When factoring in the enormous financial investment I personally made towards improving the building and the space itself,, the lease rate is well below market value. The upstairs space could accommodate growth, to the business itself, as well as opportunities for sub-leasing or additional classroom space. Part of the transition could include my expertise in easing any transitional needs.

There is much more that could be said, but I will wait and see if anyone from the community expresses an interest. Please direct any inquiries to: anita@davabead.com

Thanks for your business and support all of these years....
Anita

** Also due to this transitional time, we want to announce that we will be suspending our “Bonus Card” program, which also includes Supportland.
